Hi,

I just have a few questions, the other day i was driving my grand am happy as can be and the next thing i know i look over and some guy loses control of his car going southbound on my highway, he slams into the ditch and enters the otherside of the highway going northbound. Just my luck i was right in front of him when i got sprayed with rocks and debris. There is one big chip a littler smaller then dime size on the drivers side of my hood and alot of smaller white chips. It shows up really bad since my car is bright red. Now what should i do? should i take it to an autoshop and have them repaint the bumper and the hood? I bet that will cost me a million dollars. Is there anyway i could touch it up with some stuff so that its not really noticeable? I would like to avoid repainting because i'm only 17 and i don't have that much money to repaint. On top of that i already have to get my windshield replaced because of all of the rocks that hit it. Ok if anyone knows please tell me. Thanks

Jason

well, you're #1 concern is if the metal underneath the paint is showing. If so, you'll have to immediately do something about it before rusts occurs.... then you're screwed. Take it to a bodyshop and get an estimate at least. It won't cost you anything... that way you'll have a better idea. Take it to the most respectable and really good bodyshop in your area, they tend to be more helpful.

Red would be pretty hard to paint match... but go ahead and try it. You can always get it repainted later.

then some old lady opened her door when she was getting into her car and nailed the side of my car, so now i have a ding, i was to far away to say anything to her b4 she drove away,,,

all im same day, i was SO P*SSeD:2up: :2up:

btw my car is black.....

anyways of fixing them ez'ier than getting ther doors repainted?

My 91 Ga was red, the tremcald red was pretty close, it will do the trick until you can paint the car. If you just leave it, it might start cracking or peeling. I dont know how big the makrs are but on the hood is a pretty noticable spot. Just touh it up until you can repaint the whole car. A 99 means it was built in 98, so the paints 6 years old, the hood only repainted might make the rest of the car look duller.

I had a big scratch in my door, from going to the safari(thus the monkey on hood lol). I sprayed the scratch with a spray bomb, and then wiped it off with some reduced thinner, that way it takes all the wet paint off inside the scratch. Worked well on black anyways.:agree:
