Are there any negative side affects to adding a cold air intake in vehicle?

could possibly lose some low end torque but other than that no.

If your CAI is a true CAI with the filter down the wheel well, then you may have to be concerned about water injestion...Especially if you like driving through deep puddles!!

there are no dumb questions, just dumb people...
(paraphrasing Mr. Garrison)
The only negatives toa true CAI is that they might require drilling and they have lowered low-end torque... and that whole drinking straw thing.. puddles are bad.. mkay?
If memory serves me correctly, AEM makes a bypass that will bring in warm air if the intake is submerged. I think it's like $80 and you just cut the pipe and clamp on.
