I dont know, ive personally seen a few grand am 3300 with a 5 speed. I dont know maybe they were custom ordered or something. But i would kill for one of those, the one i saw which was a SE 1993 grand am had the 3300 motor and a 5 speed stick, and the thing smoked the tires like no tommorow. And from the looks of it it looked stock.

AFAIK ... GM has 'never' made a Grand AM with a V6 (or any style) with a standard transmission meaning if you saw on, I would guess that it was custom down after it was originally purchased ... personally, I think a V6 standard would be awesome!!

And we all know how dealers are 100% correct all the time.
All V6 GA's were auto.
Quad 4 / 5-speeds are often misprinted V6/manual.

If the V6 GA's had 5 speeds, I could see them running mid 15's stock easily. GM, you were lame. At least the G6 GTP's have 6 speeds.

was there a 5 speed option for the 3.0L motor in the pre 92 body styles?

Nope. That theme holds true for all the FWD years. Sucks too... even that 3.0 V6 would have been nice with a manual. Certainly not a beast with HP, but I was impressed with the torque when compared to the 60 degree 2.8L V6 from that era.

the only V6 cars that got 5spd trannies were the J-bodies, some N-bodies(Beretta's mostly/all, NO GA's though) and some W-body cars with or without the 4cam 3.4L essentially if it had a a 60* motor in it it "could" have a 5spd. guess the tourque output of the "bigger" sixes was too much to handle for them.... but then again the Z34 Lumina could be had with a 5spd....

No, N-body never had a manual V6. Beretta's are an L-body... and the those manual V6's were the 2.8/3.1 MPFI, not the 94+ 3100 SFI.

my mistake, i always thought they (beretta and GA's) shared the same platform. but either way those 5spd trannies still bolt up to a 3.3, just gotta be custom bout it....

with Wbodies 88-93 2.8/3.1's got a Manual. and 91-96 3.4s got a Manual. BUT the 94+ 3100 didnt get a manual. NO 3100/3400 car got a manual. The 3800 did in the firebirds. Strange how none of the 3x00 motors got a Manual trans in anything
