My car quits on me just about every time I go to start it up. I have to hurry up and get it out of park to keep it going. This happened last summer to me also, but when winter came it never did it. Now that summer is here again, it's started to quit again. Does anyone know what this could be? The last couple of days haven't been really hot, but it still does it. Maybe it has to do with the weather? I dunno..:???:

There is a censor in the car that tells the the computer how much gas to mix with the air. Older cars it called the cold air or start switch. It's sending the wrong info, so the fuel/air fixture is not right and it dies...

That's just a guess. but worth checking into.

clean your throttle body... remove your intake and clean the butterfly (the disc that opens/closes as you accelerate)... you can get the cleaner for like 3 bucks at autozone or pepboys or any other place that sells automotive stuff.

That's what my first guess would be as it is common for cars w/ dirty throttle bodies to be displaying such symptoms. Hope that helps, good luck.

I'd say also check your IAC valve while you are at it.

It was the MAF sensor. After awhile it must have gotten dirty so my bro hogwashed it. When he did that it didn't start running good again right away. But he said it takes awhile for the computer to adjust, so now it works the way it should.

No more hesitations at stops and dying at startup.
