is there any way to do a diagnostics check on my car without hookin a computer into my diagnostics port? i've heard people talk about it. somethin to do with how u turn the key on and off or somethin like that. 'cause my check engine light keeps turnin on and off, and i took it to auto zone and they couldnt find anything wrong with it and i dont wanna take it to a shop unless absolutley neccessary.

Do you know where the thing is that they plug the computer thing into. If you do, take a paper clip and cross it between the top two Right Most holes. There is metal tangs in there to touch.

A light on the dash will start flashing. Should flash 1 time wait a sec then flash 2 times. That means it is testing the system getting codes. After it flashed the 1 flash then 2 flash code a few times it will start flashing other codes. Like a code 32 whould be 3 flashed wait 2 flashed. It should do every code 3 times, then move to the next code if there is one. When it has showen all the code it will flash the 1 then 2 again 3 times then the other codes 3 times each till it get back to the 1 2 code again and so on.

95's and newer can't be done that way so you should be able to get the code by your self.

Happy flashing.

Nope, '94s can't be paperclipped. '93 and earlier.

Can't paperclip those either. I think you meant '93.

NoAsian, yeah, you might be able to find an Autozone that can scan it, it's kind of an oddball though, '95 is the worst, but '94 is a little strange too.
