I got bored and had some LED's kicking around so I decided to do a custom mod.
I've never seen or heard of this being done before, so I guess it's new.
I ordered 100 LED's 3000 mcd blue around 3v each.
I wired 4 in series, popped out the light bulb in the dome light, and wired the LED's in it's place. It looks amazing, I also sanded down the LED's so they give off a richer, flat light, rather than the usual concentrated beam.
I'll try to get pics. It's 100x better than tinted light bulbs, or light bulb colors which I have always thought had a turquoise look to them. This is a VERY full blue and my car is completely lit up at night.
Once again, I'll try to get pictures, I have some other interesting LED mods/ideas if anyone is interested, also if you have any ideas I would love for you to share them I want some new things to do.

That's cool but #1 for the LED's alone, not the drop in ones, they want 97$ for 100 of the same LED's I paid $14.99 for 100, with free shipping (ebay).
#2 you can't aim the LED's, they're in a fixed position, that's one advantage I've found of LED's just free of restricted movement.
I couldn't find the dome light one, can you give a direct link?
I'll get pictures tonight so you can all see.

Look down the page at the 3022 and 4211 festoon base bulbs. The 3022 will fit right in and the 4211 will fit with minor modifications to the holding bracket.
And you can't aim each LED separately but you can direct what the bulb is turned towards.

I will get the pictures very soon. Today my project was putting LED's in my headlights. It looks amazing, all wired to a switch.
I drilled holes in the headlight thing, wired them up, and it reflects around inside there quite nicely.
Does anyone have any idea how long the car could support LED's without the car on, basically how long could the battery run them while allowing the car to still start.
I know the LED's draw very little amperage so I figure it should be able to support them for a while, basically I want to be able to leave my headlamp things on even after the car is off, because you really can't see them with the car headlights on. I have my ALC disabled though so I can show them off for now :).
I'm going to keep trying to think of new ideas for my LED's, if anyone has any ideas I'm open to anything and I will get pictures of it very soon I promise.

From the LED site superbrightleds.com (the one mentioned above):
Incredibly low power consumption will allow you to leave your Lunar Accents on for extended periods with zero risk to your car battery! Blue, green, aqua and silver Lunar Accents draw approximately 17mA (0.017 amps) while your car is off. At this rate, the average car battery (60 amp hours) would last for months. Each time you start your car, your battery is charged.
(In reference to LED's). Mine are the same LED's, so I guess I answered my own question.

I use led lights in my headlights and i never shut them off, and i have never had a problem with the battery or with the car hard starting. I also have green led alarm light that is always on and 4 green led inside of my gauge cluster so i wouldnt worry to much about your batter, if you are worried buy a red top batter and walla problem soved. Good luck and post some pics.
