fluctuating oil press

hey all, first i wanna say hey! this is my first post.so to the question....
90 GA SE 2.3 Quad HO....the oil pressure reads what it wants when it wants.at first start up it will read about halfway...after it gets up to temp it will rid the red line sometimes kickin on the check gauge lite.if i shut her down for a couple minutes (maybe to run into a store) and start it back up it will start halfway again then drop to red line.i thought maybe might be press sender or a sensor.any help on this would be appreciated. thanks

OldFred has been posting about oil pressure problems. You might want to look at his threads. It seems there is about 3 of them related to the car.

You have checked the oil to insure there is oil in there right?

How long has it been since the oil was changed. It breaks down after to much use.
