oooookay!
I have done it!!! I have dished out the HOTTEST days of the summer in Texas with NO A/C!!! SO now I have realized i can survive without the A/C I want to eliminate that puppy and yeild a few more ponies. Here is my concern though. Manta sells the elimination pulley, that alone won't give me the gain i am expecting will it? I need to get the smaller serpentine belt and eliminate the a/c and NO pulley at all right? Or will the manta pulley be suffice for the gain i am expecting? If I need to go with a smaller belt would anyone have the p/n? Fbod maybe?

gettosupperstar (sp) posted about this a couple weeks ago.
this is what he found, he said he has test driven the car and it works good.
DayCo Polycog belt
Number 5050365 seemed to work best.
number 5050355 was small and
number 5050370 was too big.
I wrote it down and have it in my wallet incase I Need it before I change it over.
Hope this helps.

OK...Well i tried the 50365 belt and it fits but its kinda loose, and i dont think i could get a smaller one on. The tensioner just kinda sits there as an idler pulley, is there any way to turn it around or something to put some tension on the belt, cuz im afraid it might come off. Any ides or suggestions?...

Ok thanks...but the belt i have fits as tight as i could get i think....i was just curious if the tensioner could be turned around to spring in the other direction...because when u take the A/C out the belt goes to the other side of the tensioner...but i know it isnt gunna fall off cuz i have had the car up to a hundred a couple times today and nuthin went wrong but it kinda squeels a little when it starts up sometimes and it sounds like a piece of crap...nothing big...maybe ill rip into the tensioner tomorrow...

A belt that squeels is loose. If it quites squeeling when the car is warmed up after say 15 to 30 minutes..
It's a loose belt.
