As most of you know.. my front AED bumbper is gone and so is my hood.

I am selling the hood to a buddy of mine. bye bye hood.. i just dont have the money to fix it and he would do it himself

I have a buddy of mine here in houston who is selling me his front and rear kit but the front needs work. I would like to try to fix it myself but i am looking for help

It has chips and some cracks.
The chips i guess bondo would fix... but what about the cracks.. :(

does anyone know of a site that could give me a "how to" fix broken fiberglass.

thanks
Fausto

I got it from a guy in Orange, Texas near Beaumont, I have it for about 4 months, Fausto got it from me and he has had it for almost a year now it is yours... lol been around the state. Yeah I got rid of my AED front about month after the hood. The girlfriend...now wife.... thought I loved the car more that her so it was her or the car, and well the car is replaceable, so i parted everything out. Sold the hood, front, wheels, I cried for a month. I loved that shit on my car, but glad to be able to see it on others. Glad it's still in the "family" and the you are bring it back to life "Dr. Frankenstien" lol

If you didn't repair the hood yourself it would be cheaper to buy a new one.... I can't believe that it is even repairable. I had it resanded, and a few places reinforced on the hood and repainted and it was close to 700 bucks. so to have that much repaired would cost you out the ASS. It's like 50-60 bucks a hour for fiberglass labor.

i have some pics at home. I will send them to ya.. the ones seen on the crash make the hood look totalled but its okay.. but definately

a job for someone who would do it himself.

Well the hood is starting to look better i have 2 little spots to fill and the top half is done I had to fiberglass the inside so i cut the bottom layer off so I could get to everything. Next is the latch area i have it glassed all it needs is to be sanded and puttied in some spots then i have to connect the hood to the bottom layer and re glass it. I should have it done tommorow and painted on mon or tues.

Last pic before it goes to the paint shop. Every thing is done only prob i had was with the hood latch, so i glassed over the spot and decided to go with hood pins:mad: but i loose the gap in the front which is a plus.

Its not perfect the hood is a little bit straighter than it should be but i dont have the resources to curve it more, and id have to custom make a shorter hood latch with the factory latch on there I have about a 3" gap without it it sits flush all im waiting for is some hood pins so i can bolt them onto the car and hood first then after i make all my needed holes ill take it in for paint.

looks good though. :)

I was woundering if you could show me how to fix the front AED that my buddy is selling me. I think its just a cool feeling to say, i fixed it. also, good practice incase of any future mess ups.

Ok one more pic now i got this bright idea that maybe if i put the hood on and tighten my pins down real tight it would hold its shape but the hood is always getting hot *duh*so this isnt gonna work but i figure ill be a ricer for awhile and run around with a primered piece on the car oh and plus im waiting on my paint it should be painted next week.

well i got the front from my buddy at my house.. Unfortunately, i dont have the money to buy it right now but i will snap a few pics tonight. I will then take it back to him and let him take care of it till i have time to buy it.

I think some of that stuff that has fiberglass mixed in it should fix it, since the crack that i had thought really isnt that bad.

But i also would like to fiberglass the edges again since they are missing some nice pieces.
