Accelerator (Gas) Pedal spring

I was having a major issue with my gas pedal as it kept creaking and making a clicking sound as I drove around. I don't always have the radio on so it was getting on my nerves. So, I yanked the pin out from behind the pedal but now I can't figure out how the spring that was there goes back on. I was going to use some graphite lube to get it to stop making noise but I have no clue about this spring. Anyone know how it goes back on? Any help is appreciated.

I have the creaking problem but I wd-40 it once and awhile
I never touched it past that
