I use the K&N oil filter. Like it, not much more I can say, except it filters my oil :)
It's not like it's easy to inspect for performance after you remove it. I don't have a oil pressure gauge to look at the performance while it's running either. All I can say is that I've never had any problem with them.

Motorcraft? why in gods name were you using a ford oil filter? K&N filters are great also to be considederd would be purolator oil filters both cost about 10$ a peice. me my self i prefer NAPA Gold Oil filters. same as WIX top end oil filter.

I think you're confusing Mastercraft (Crappy Tire's brand) with Motorcraft (Ford's brand) :)

I know that you can cross-reference a Motorcraft and use it in a GM, it would work fine.

Wix, it's the only way to go. You can get them at carquest (with their name on it) if you don't have a local place that sells them

After some researching I have found that Purolater makes the Motorcraft filter and it is a high quality filter. The K&N filter is the best one that every website I found tested. If you can afford it I would suggest switching. I currently use AC Delco but I will switch to Napa Gold (exactly the same as a Wix filter, unlike some manufacturers ?sp? who make a low-quality filter for other brands, like Champion who makes many filters and not all of them are the same quality) and if I can find a Pulolater I will try it.

actually the best oil filter is a completely new system that you will have to run and you change the filtering elemints in the filter area its made by Amsoil and costs over 100$ for the set up.

Isn't carquest a local place or do they have an online store?

Carquest is a nationwide company, they have a website, but I don't know how functional it is.

The only 3 brands of filters I use on the GA is: Bosch Premium, Purolator Pure One, or Mobil 1 filters (if I have the $)

I used to run pure one, then I actually cut a wix, pure one, k&N, and fram double guard in half. The difference was crazy. Plus the Wix is the only one that has a special valve that keeps the oil in the crank so it doesn't all go back in the oil pan when you turn off your engine. A lot less wear and tear on startup:D

On the 3400 it doesn't make much of a difference because the filter sits almost straight up. Not much drain back there.

yeah, but it's still the best filter on the market
