i have a 01 gt1 and its at about 50,000 miles not and for the life of me i cant guess whats going on with it every time i fill up the light comes on to serv engin soon has this happened to any one else it please let me know what it was that caused it and how you fixed it thanks :banghead:

... I assume the light goes back out? Could be a tank vent/valve problem or maybe a gasket problem on the cover ... at first guess :)

Check your gas cap. If it has a seal problem, it will cause the check engine light to come on.

Ditto on the gas cap check. If it's not sealing, the computer will pick up on it and throw the check engine light. If nothing else, it's a really cheap first try at a fix...lol

have any of you had this problem or do i have a wacked out car now i really hope that this is all it is the car is going to pontiac this week so i hope thats all it is thanks guys

i had the same problem in my 1997 gagt, it kicked on and i was clueless of what it was, then i said hell i'll get out the owners manual and it said blah blah blah check your gas cap. so i did it and it worked. I'm glad that was all the problem was! i have a 99gagt now and it hasn't had any problems like that.....yet
