My power steering pump sounds funny

I can only hear the noise if I lift the hood. It is kind of a whining sound to it. It is defiantly coming were the pw steering fluid is held. Am I just being paranoid? The wheel turns great and all.

I had that problem on my 2000. Started like that then one day i was smokin on the highway. Could barely control the car. 15 minutes at GM and they replaced it

did they replace it for free? or was the car still under warranty?

Check your fluid level 1st, and make sure it is properly serviced.

i aready took it to the dealership, the thing was leakign fluid faster than i could put it in they said new pump, return and pressure line quote of 1057

Yeah, I read your post. I seriously doubt the dealership or warrenty company is going to cover it. If it is powertrain only, it won't cover your power steering. I know it hurts, but I am sure that is what they will tell you.
