Anyone know this problem?
I have a 96 GAGT, 82k miles, and the car recently started doing this under acceleration when the motor is warmed up and the RPM's are @ 2500 or below.
Please help, as I need the car to continue going to school.:(

check the air filter, you should be able to see light thru it.
then fuel filter if the air filter is clean.
Next would be Plugs.
That will keep you going for a few.

I've already gone through those and that didn't fix the problem, EXCEPT, I didn't change the plugs but just shortened the gap to 40 thousandths (.040) and that seems to help. But now it don't seem to have the power that I loved about that darn 2.4l motor.:(

I don't know what the gap should be on the 2.4 but .40 sounds a bit much to me.
If changing the gap, made some differance go garb 4 Ac Delco plugs and change them out. If nothing else you have scratched that off the list of things it could be.
Also check to see how dirty thre MAF is. Dirty MAF's can cause problems.

where is that located? MAF sensor?
.040 in. is the gap I set, not .40
