yea, that would be good if there was never rain in your area. that filter is way too unprtected. bottom out and say bye bye filter. try to get it up in the front bumber where water and ground cant get it.

he'll be fine, see the plastic splash gaurd, that helps from getting your under carrige messed up,the plastic peice, kinda off the pic,but see the bolts for it in the pic,is lower then the filter,so he just needs a heat shield cover from like Weapon-R or RActive that the filter sits in to protect from water and what not........
Ive been wanting to know how to make a custom CAI for the 2.4 for a long time,bu just ordered me an AEM from SpyHunteR and i'll prolly in the future convert it by extending it into the fender well.

i like how u set that up yourself.......but...............I might have just heard wrong but I heard that wisconsin gets some really cold winters and that might be a problem for you unless you plan on redoing that when winter comes around. theres a big chance that your intake the way it is now will backfire because in cold winter weather... your engine will be taking in air that is too cold.....and yes, there is such a thing as an engine bringing in too much cold air. and air that is too cold is a bad thing. havent you noticed how most CAI's are still completey inside the engine bay. your engine doesnt want hot, engine air...but it also doesnt want freezing air.........thats why its COOL air intake......these bring in air that isnt directly coming off from the engine, it's still hot air but not as hot as it could be

its COLD air intake....unless your from fast&furious where they call em cool air, lol.
anyway extremely frigid air could be bad but id worrymore about snow or water getting to it when its sitting so low.

YES, the key worry. WATER. hit a big enuf puddle and in comes alot of water. that pice of plastic wont do that good in a puddle. then ya gotta worry about the slight chance of driving through mud, weither ya want to or not. and what about drive through car washes?? i know alot of ppl that would be dumb enuff to forget about the filter being there, or if ya loan the car out and some one else does that. best to find a way to fit it to right behind the front bumber

use the stock intake port in front of the battery as a guide if need be. maybe even making the hole there larger for larger piping
