does anyone know the diffrence between a turbo cylinder head and a non turbo one? i would rather pick one up from salvage than use my own to get ported and polished, that way i avoid down time on my car. and what about gaskets? might as well get one to handle high boost, has anyone looked in to this?

i think the turbo head haz a higher or lower compresion than non turbo.
Ha, my head gasket went, im still looking for parts for the friggen thing. Im not sure, if there is a difference inthe heads. but the pistons are dished, so thats how gm decided to lower the compression. But what i have found, is the "lifters" or "valve lash compensators" are 15 bucks each, the guy at the parts store looked into the rockers for me for a week, and there arent any in canada. But if you are taking your head off, ill let you in on a huge time saver. Take the intake manifold off with the head, dont try to take it off while its in the car. You'll save at least an hour. But im not sure if there is a difference in the heads. Id like to know that tho.
ok, so my head was cracked and i had to get a remanufactured one, so its planed and has a 3 angle valve grind and i had the cam bearings replaced, as well as to find out my turbo is broke. Im looking forward to getting it on the road. But as with mods to it, i dont have much, ive been broke all year long and ive had the car for a year and a half. Ready for this? Dryer hose from behind the air dam to the bottom of the air filter until i get the time and gumption to bend one up from the turbo to in front of the radiator. And i have an msd coil, i bought it because it was red, theres slight difference between it and the stock, so unless your upgrading for lots of power, i dont think its worth the 65 bucks or whatever it was. I have a Pioneer DEH P7400 MP MP3 player, with 2-12 inch concept subs, concept 6x9s, 4 inch MB Quart door speakers, and thats all for mods. Unless you want to count my red shifter nob and boot and red floor mats and red neons, but thats all i have. Nothing special, sticking with the sleeper look, because i like to look on buddys face when you blow his doors off. But thats got'er for now. Next its exhaust tho. Its 2 3/4 from the down pipe to the cat, then 2 1/2 from the cat back. Im thinking, hack the cat out, and run 2 3/4 all the way. See if i notice something from that.

i also am planing on replaceing the exhaust from what i hear a 3" front to back will be fine i thaught it would be over sized but the exhaust shop told me beacuse its turbo charged almost all the back pressure needed is built up in the turbo so a wide open exhaust will not produce to little back pressure but when i go in for it i will find out for sure b4 buying it right now i think im going 2 3/4 front to back 3" downpipe.
