Up north where I used to live, a front license plate was required. Now that I live in FL, we don't need a front plate. Without a plat ein front tho, my car looks crappy. Is there a cover or something I can put in this area when I'm not using a plate?

I moved from NY (highly required) to Ohio (only loosely required) so I didn't have the cover because I didn't need it in NY, so the dealer never gave it to me. I called up the dealer and they were giving me a hard time about sending me one even though they should have given it to me when I bought the car (it's mine after all, just because I couldn't use it was besides the point). Anyway, I got on the phone with the saleperson I bought my car from and he said no problem and I had it a week later. Those salespeople are always trying to please you :D

its supposed to come on the car (99-02), but that doesnt mean it does. a new car with no plates should have it, then you shoudl take it off to put on your new plate when it comes.
now,(03) that cover is an option, so if you have it on your car, take care of it, make sure nobody jacks it.

Well...I called my dealership looking for one and they wanted $50 for one and it doens't even come already painted.
I went to a local place and the same thing. A little cheaper but when all is said and done, it'll still cost around $80 - $100.
$100 just for a front piece of of plastic! WTF!
Anyone have a silver one they'd like to sell me? It's the normal silver that '01 GA's some in. ::fingers crossed::

I've been told to put a front license plate on, but I don't even have one. If I did have one I probably wouldn't put it on because it looks gay.

Haha, nice... if you can pull it off, go for it. I dunno if it's even legal to have it on your dash in my state... they're pretty anal about the whole front plate deal...

A plate in the windsheild is not acceptable in Ohio, they may let you off, but you certainly can be sited.

Well maybe where you live in Ohio, not here, bumch of people here do it,most have lowered cars so they put them up on the dash,as long as its visible and clear to see they won't bother you about, hell you have it and they can't say oh it has to be on your bumper, its in the front, plain and simple.Oh and i did read the thing for temp, and don't recall it stating exactly where in front of the car the plate had to be.But then again its been awhile since ive had to read it,ive got my license for over a year.If you do get sited, you can easily get it revoked, most judges here don't think its a thing to be enforced,as long as you had it and it visible they'll revoke the ticket.

Oh c'mon... just cuz you've seen ppl doin it doesn't mean it's legal... I see ppl speeding everyday... doesn't mean it's legal.
I see underage drinking all the time... don't mean it's legal.
I see people driving around with no front license plate here in WA where its required... once again, doesnt mean its legal...
Catch my drift? :P

i got my car without the front license plate cover... being that i've got an in with the parts manager and the sales manager, we basically made them order/paint it for me. it makes a hella big difference, at least to me. try that route, if you're friends with your salesperson...

WOO HOO! Just got home from work and saw that I actually won the front cover. Total...$14.50. $10.50 for the actual auction and $4 for shipping. I'm an extremely happy guy. :D And to think...the dealer wanted $30 + $60 painting.
