kit modifications

If i were to modify the front bumper of the AAS kit for the 96-98 kit so that the middle part of the nostril(part that the arrowhead is) to take it out so theres just one big grill,whats the best way about getting it taken out,cut it out and sand,prime and paint the bumper area?

well dunno if i was going to do it,if i was i was going to find a billet alum grill(like a Malibu) and put it in the opening.I know id prolly be disrespecting the Grand Am name if i did:(

i would be a little skeptical though... that might be a structure point for the kit... if you take that off.. it might hold okay but w/ all the bend and turns... the kit at the edges (the ones at the edge of the nostrils) will be beding too much and might crack.
