It's been awhile since I've played around with cars and a lot has changed. I have some questions on how the distributorless ignition works.
1...is the timing adjustable??
2...If not does the computer adjust the timing for conditions?
3...If the computer adjusts for timing will using a higher grade of gas actually allow the engine to advance it's timing to take full advantage of the higher octane??
any insight would be great
Thanks!

i could be wrong on this stuff, but:
1) the timing is not adjustable, that can only be done with a distributor.
2) it does advance and retard the timing when needed. an example would be the ETS. it retards the timing when the tires spin
3) i dont thing so, unless you have and upgraded ingitions system.
but let an expert verify my answers

Themeneea is right. There is no way to adjust the timing on your engine. It is all handled by the computer. The computer advances and retards the time based on the information it receives from the powertrain sensors.
As far as using higher octane fuel, the stock engine really won't take advantage of the higher octane, so you won't see much improvement using a 94 octane fuel instead of the an 89 octane.
