I actually have the kit for it. It has exact directions on how to do it and everything. I don't plan on putting it on my GA tho. If anyone wants to buy it, I'd sell it fairly cheap.

Did you get the kit from www.flipfloptrunk.com? If so how much are you looking to get for it? I'm definitely interested.

This one is from http://www.next-levelmotoring.com
I don't see it listed on the site anymore tho. I'll sell it for $30 + shipping. It's never been used. If you want pics of it, let me know...

Thanks but I'm gonna have to pass that up. Haven't heard too many great things about universal kits. Back to the drawing board I guess...thanks anyway!

I've heard alot of bad things about the mod like it doesn't close all the way and water will sometimes leak into the truck. Does anyone have any positive feedback about them other than looking sweet?

I did it on my car and it was basically free ( had to buy hood pins). i have a good seal all the way around the trunk and no water leaks in. I doesn't rattle either. I cut the metal sleeve that the trunk arm goes in using a grinder with a cutting disk. It pivots on the top bolt and i drilled two holes at the bottom (one on each side) through the trunk and arm and put two hood pins through them. Everyone i show loves it... The only problem is it doesn't do it automatically when you open the trunk :( . I have to pull out the two pins, not that much work, and fold down the trunk.

http://www.24kracing.com/how_to/how_to.htm
this site has four methods of installation.
I would not do this to my car, simply because it can do more harm than good. You use steel hinges designed for gates, and on those you support a one heavy ass trunk. As well as the weight distribution of the trunk could damange the stock hinges and bar.
For this mod to work well (for my standards) I would add pnematic or hydrolic supports (just like the heavy trunk lids on vans and wagons). As well as I would engineer my own mounting hardware from a block or aluminum or steel, or find something more durable than cheap 2 dollar hinges.
That's my 2 cents. It's up to you to do it, but I would think about spending a little bit of money on some solid hardware... PS: If you use steel, please paint it or prime it! It will rust. And also don't use brass hardware on a car... It just looks stupid...
cheers
