I just used a piece of fishing line and kind of shimmied it down til the badge fell off and then i used some bug and tar remover to get the glue off, took a while to get it off since my car's older but since your's in fairly new it shouldn't be too bad.

I used dental floss (fishing line is better but I didn't have any). I went through quite a few yards of floss so be prepared :P

Then I used my finger to rub off the rubbery black stuff (hey, it works). There was a little outline left where the badge was but it came off after a couple car washes.

Try heating the badges with a hair dryer first to loosen the adhesive. It works MUCH better. :agree:

I debadged my 2001. I used fishing line hooked between 2 pens (under the clips) to remove the badge (saved my fingers), then I used a stripe off wheel hooked to a drill (don't use a cordless all it does is bounces off the surface). Then clean with goo gone or some other cleaner. Then make sure to wax it afterwards as there won't be any protection for your paint under there. I got the stripe off wheel at my local auto parts store. It was like $24 but it is definetally worth the time & effort saved. I think it took me 1/2 hr to take off both side & trunk badges. Any other questions feel free to get ahold of me.

would rubbing alcohol work as well to get off the goo left behind? Also, will removing the badge break it? The new trunklid I have has a green grand am logo, and mine is silver from my old one, and I want to use the silver one, so I am going to remove the badges from both lids, if they are safe to remove..

I was going to soak the badges (abs and grand am) in some rubbing alcohol and rub the back off with my finger, and than use some adhesive glue to stick it to the trunk lid again. Anyone heard of this?

I just used a hair dryer, dental floss and some turtle wax polish, 20 mins later, looked like it came that way from the factory!

i hair dryer and a plastic spoon works wonders i was a little worried about scratching but if u use the scratch and swirl remover to get excess glue off thatll take care of the scratches if any but i didnt have any so you shouldnt have a problem

I dunno about putting it back on but when i shaved my badges i used the alcohol (didnt as work as well well as i hoped) so i went out and bought the good ole gunk remedy: lighter fuel. It didnt damage the paint and worked fairly quickly.
