I heard you can take the paneling off just like the badges(hope its true)..But, i guess there is one whole by the front fender..this is what i heard. I guess you can buy something to cover that hole up. If anyone knows what im talking about post somethin up. Ide like to do this without having a mess to deal with

i've done it to my car and it was pretty easy. you need string and goo gone to do it and some time. what you do is basiclly saw them off. you use the goo gone to get the remaining adhesive off. and yes there is a hole in each fender. as far as covering up the holes. i bought graphics for my car for a different style.;)

no the whole wont rust. its painted but the reason the hole is there is to attached a platic clip (on the ribs) to the metal fender..

I dont have any pics but like phatG-A said.. some vinyl will cover it right up

They hole is also good for adding side marker lights all you need to do is make it a little bigger or just buy the ones that have the adhesive on them. And removing the ribs is easy using a hair dryer to heat the paneling up works real good the adhesive will usually just come off with the paneling so adhesive remover wont be needed.

ok.. so its final i can take the paneling off and there wont be any clips or metal shit pokin out the side. Im gonna take this paneling off in a couple days i think, so i just wanna make sure..Thanks
o ya, do u think that looks good without the paneling, cuz i dont got a body kit to put on it right now, so the front and back bumpers will still be ribbed, wadda ya think?

well personally i like the looks without it. some will say it looks to much like an alero or that the the cladding is what makes it a grand am, but i guess it's upto you.

I was thinking about doing that to my car, i guess it will just make it look alot like a 03-04 grand am.... what im really wanting to do, is find a wrecked GT and take the bumpers and moldings off of it, or maybe find some one who had a GT that installed a body kit and i could buy their old bumpers/moldings.

I saw someone was selling a small plug with the Pontiac dart on it that fits in that hole.

I think it was one of those auto graphics places that sell the reflective stuff.

I like the look without the washboards, I might do that next spring.

i was going to do the same thing but i thought it would look stupid because the bumpers still had those lines and you cant take those off.

Its just my personal preference so dont jump on me. But I don't like a deribbed GA. Without the ribbing the GA is nearly identical to an Olds Alero. If you wanted the Alero look why not just buy athe Alero. Its the ribbing that makes the GA unique. There I've said my peace.

You must have been talking to my wife:lol:

I kinda agree, but have never seen a 2 door that was done. Maybe there is a reason?

At the top of the site page there is deribbed 2 door. I would just leave them on till you repaint the car and it can be done right other wise I can see problems happening with rust and just plan looking bad with a hole in the side of your car. JMO 2cents
