here's what i used/did:
autozone intake
3 3" dia. 90 degree adj. elbows from home depot
1 8" length of 3" dia. flex pipe (dryer stuff) from home depot
a few ring clamps
KN Cone Filter
first i cut the intake down a bit so the end just came to the battery. i then removed the stock air box and everything with it including th lower air box in the fender wall. i then connected 2 of the elbows with a machine screw and then "creativly" slid it down the hole that goes into the fender well. so one elbow was completly in the wall and the other was above it and turned so it would go around the battery. i then turned the third elbow so it was a straight pipe and connected it to the fender well elbow and then a KN on the end of it. i then used a length of the flexible pipe to connect the elbow by the battery to the intake and used ring clamps to secure. and thats it! i have driven around with it and i dunno if i really notice a difference but it sounds louder and now i can say i made one!!! hope this helps someone who is looking to make one, and all the parts minus the filter and intake were less than 10 bucks, filter was 45, and intake was 25
