I have been thinking about mounting a pait of Audiobhn subs like the pic shown, but i don't know how to. Does any one know? Here is a blown up pic of CarAudioDaves system:

I meant just having the subs face that way, like reversed or whatever you call it. Also how would i have to build the box for the surround to move in and how well do they hit this way? :???:

That's CarAudioDave's setup I believe, give him a PM he'd be the best person to reference regarding that type of system, he built it.

if all youre wanting is the look all you have to do is turn the speakers over. ive known of many people doing this. its probably not the best procedure, but itd work

So is the trunk your actual box then? Also would you have to change the shpe of your entire trunk to a box recomended size?

Your still going to need an inclosure behind, well infront of the sub in this case for them to work propperly. The Trunk dosent serve as the enclosure. Mounting the subs like that can be done with any type of box, just instead of having your + wire going to the + terminal, and the - wire going to the - terminal on the speakres, you have to wire them out of phase....+ from amp going to - on sub, and - from amp, going to + on sub.

So i would still need a box to the recommened specs then, right?

Yep. , just keep in mind that your going to have to wire the speakers out of phase. Other than looking different, I don't see any advantage of inverting the subs like that. having the basket and magnet hanging outlikethat, will take up a little more space in your trunk, but if your going for something different, give it a try.

ok i did that with my alpine type e's and it made a huge difference in sound q and db. but that could also be because my box is a little small. but anyhoo if u have the the right size box and face them that way it should the same as facing them the normal way in a little bit bigger box. see what happens is the magnets take up space and when building or buying a box u have to account for that or the box will be out of tune (in my case).

You will lose about 3 db when you invert your subs. The human ear can't tell the difference between 3 db so unless you are competing you don't have to worry.
