So i found someone with an MTX3000 the same that I have and he was sellin it with a box for two subs. So now I have 2 MTX Thunder3000s. I hooked them all up to the amp and got them working then after like 5 minutes they shut off. So i looked and the power and all was still on it but it just wasnt working. Took it to the local audio custom place and he unbridged or bridged it i dont know but it got working again and for a longer time then they shut off again! The power to the amp still works but it isnt doing anything with my subs. What should i do(besides dump all of this and upgrade to a better system)

I see this all the time. I bet what the shop did was unbridge the amp because you had it wired to a 2 ohm mono load and most amps don't like that. Now the system isn't as loud as it was for those 5 minutes because you basically have less then half the power going to them. My suggestion is to get two dual voice coil subs so you can wire that amp to 2 ohms STEREO, or get a bigger two channel amp or a class d mono amp that makes its full power at 2 ohms. Such as a Memphis 500D, any Phoenix Gold sub amp, most Rockford sub amps, or one of the many other amps on the market. Just check with your favorite local shop. Peace, Lee
