well, it finally happened. i dont know how or why it happened, but it did. the 1500 is gone. :( . i was in my girlfriends car this afternoon, and we had the windows down just kind of cruising. we're sitting at a stop light and some dude in a escalade pulls up beside us. i had the stereo on like 15, the bass was audible, but i wasnt trying to show off. he looked over and snickered, by the way the kid looked like he was barely old enough to drive. i looked at him and with a dumbfounded look on my face like "what are snickering about?". he reached over and turned his stereo up. i could barely hear the bass over mine, kind of pathetic i thought, but he was proud of it. not liking to be outdone, especially by little rich kids who had mommy and daddy buy it for them, i turned mine up. i turned it up to 30 and turned the bass knob (remote gain) for the amp up about 3/4 of the way. i got everyones attention at the stop light for about 45 sec. then all of a sudden the bass stopped. no snap, crackle, or pop. the punk kid looked over and didnt even make an expression. the light turned green, he sped off and we headed to the stereo shop. they asked me all kinds of questions and we came to the conclusion that we didn't know what happened. they gave me a loaner amp and are going to send my amp off monday. on the plus side, the sub still plays just as loud as ever and the system didn't loose very much of the boom factor. sometimes if i didnt have bad luck i wouldnt have any luck at all

Sorry to hear that. I got two of those. It's funny embarrassing people who think their shit's loud...

The suspension on my 15's just finally gave out thanks to one of those amps.

i've got an 18 and it actually handles it pretty well. i think if i really pushed it i could probably blow it, but i just have to be careful and not do that

I had a similar event happen to me last week on my way home from work. Soem kids listening to techno in an explorer pull up next to me, and honestly it sounded pretty decent from inside my car. I turned mine up just to drownd their music out so I didn't haveto listen to it at the traffic light, I have nothing against Techno, by the way, its just the principal lol. even with mine cranked pretty high, Istill heard theirs slightly. I was impresed. I wonder what they had.... hmmm lol

Techno does make my system loud. Those OEM tweeters have some power. And my one 10" MTX full range box does help alot.

I'm sorry to hear about your amp but in the attempt to embarrass, it sounds like you embarrassed your self. I don't mean anything by that its just kinda funny if you think about it. Peace, Lee
