Piece of cake install. The directions on the box were very thorough and had pictures (they always help:D ). I had to buy 2 extra splices, but that was it.
I don't have any pics right now, but I will take some tomorrow. I also don't have a Tranny Temp Gauge, so I don't know if it is actually making a difference. I am only assuming it does for now until I finally get a gauge.
For anyone hesitant about doing this yourself, don't be. If you need help or have any questions, just ask away!

Here it is looking at it from the front of the car. Don't mind the various bugs and such, they got in the way :D

Here are the transmission lines entering and leaving the cooler:

From looking at the pics, you installed the cooler on the driver side of the radiator right? If so, I have a 2000 gagt, and I installed mine on the passenger side of the car, mainly cause that was where the tranny fluid entered and exited the radiator. Is the set up different on se's than gt's. Just wondering.

sorry if this sounds stupid, how is the cooler attatched to the radiator? looks like it is screwed into the fins of the radiator. :???:

The way they are normally installed (and it appears to be the way Keith did it) is to push plastic screw/clips throught the fans of the rad thus what goes through the rad also goes through the find of the trans cooloer too ... I realize this is a bad explanation but I couldn't figure out better to word it :(

The hoses go right along the bottom of the radiator, so it could have been installed on either side. The reason I chose the drivers side is because its closest to where the tranny fluid lines enter the transmission. The fluid leaving my cooler is going to be the coolest it will ever get in its travels. This way it only has like 8" to get to the transmission, or the shortest distance possible therefore not allowing it to heat up. Will this make a difference? Probably not...either side will work just fine I'm sure.

Thats exactly how its secured. Kelly, that probably as good an explanation as I could do. The tranny cooler is mounted in front of the radiator, so air travels through the tranny cooler and then to the radiator. They are plastic screws with plastic lock washers on the other end. There are rubber spacers between the rad. and cooler. Everything I used is provided with the tranny cooler, except for the splices.

i installed a hayden cooler and changed tranny fluid last month, and finally installed several gauges yesterday, one of which is tran. temperature. my temp was about 165 degrees on the highway, and ranged from 170-180 in city traffic (air temp was about 75). my question is, do you (or anyone) know about what temp the tranny runs stock? i don't have any numbers to compare to, and i don't really know if the cooler made any difference.
btw, nice pics! i gots ta get me a digital camera!

Would just any tranny cooler do? Or is there a specific type that fit 99+ GAs? Where do you get something like this? So many questions, so many questions.

only one question. Did you notice any rise in coolant temp not that part of your radiator is beeing blocker per say by the tranny cooler, i think that the best plact to install the tranny cooler would be the radiator inlet side because the hot radiator fluid cools as it passses through so you wouldnt want to heat the area where hte coolant leaves the radiato with the tranny cooler.

No rise in coolant temp. I made a point to look for a change, but there seems to be no change so far.
