Which Amp and Sub?

I'm looking to buy a decent system, possibly 2x 10's. Was wondering what your opinions are on the best 10's I can buy. My friend suggests MTX Thunder 4000's. Says their real good.

MTX has always made a good sub, their amps on the other hand kinda suck. Personaly I say take a listen to Crossfire subs. They never treat me wrong and they also hold the title for loudest car in the world 5 years running. Never the less, only your ears can tell you which subs you like. good luck and listen to every sub you can with music YOU know. Lee

all depends on how much you wanna spend my friend.. but good companines for both subs and amps that I would recommend are: Alpine, JL, Phoenix Gold. I like all their stuff.. though they tend to be on the expensive side.. you get great quality stuff..

I would suggest that whatever you decide to go with to buy it off of ebay, you could probably upgrade to a better sub because you can find them cheaper. In my opinion, if I could get whatever I wanted I would go with Audiobahn.

I guess if we are giving suggestions I would go with Crossfire because you get the quality of any "high end" stuff for way less money. Check it out www.crosfirecaraudio.com The only thing is you can only buy it from a dealer which is a good way to go. Buying things off the internet is great cause you save so much money but you also save the advise your installler can give you, the support and trouble shooting they can give you in the future with your equipment and they will give you the warrenty that you usually won't get off the internet. We all want to save money but in this business when you do you usually lose more then you think for that dollar. As an installer I will walk outside to give you a hand with your stuff anytime you need as long as you bought it from me. If it came from somewhere else its $30 an hour. Also your local installer supports and puts money back into your community, what does the internet do for you. When you were in school who gives you prizes for your prom party. Not the internet. When you need to sell ads for your schools year book did the internet come through for you. The list goes on and on. I Love the internet for the information that is on it and for all the good people you meat such as all of you, but at the same time it destroys small businesses and smaller towns. I don't mean to unload here its just that no-one looks at the big picture just like me before I started working at a small retail shop. Just ask your local salesman why you should spend more on the same product through them and see what they say. Peace, Lee
