Okay so my car has been acting up for awhile now. When you get it into low range RPMs, a good example...going 80-90 and then just let it slip into 4th and it will run between 1500-1800 RPM as soon as you put a load on it going up even a slight incline or just trying to step into the gas a bit more to maintain speed the car will kick back at you and sometime shudder is maybe a better discrption...it's not a hesitiation though, it's definately got some snap. Sound like ignition or something right? So here's what I did to it myself..
- Changed batteries didn't stop the problem
- changed fuel filter
- put in new NGK spark plugs 14000 ago
- put on new neihoff wires about 24000 ago
- changed coil packs with used GM one i had from another car
that worked fine on it
- changed the module underneath the coil packs with used GM
- changed the ignition module which didn't work
- took the throttle body off put on new gaskets and cleaned the
throttle body along with the sensors on it and cleaned into
the intake as best I could which was filthy with carbon.
- then cleaned the passage way between the TB and the EGR in
the intake cause it was cloggedish but that didn't help
- took the EGR off and cleaned up underneath it
- removed my cold air intake

Now I had a prob where the back 3 wires were arking on each other and it was causing me major probs that's when i replaced the wires and it helped big time but didn't fix ALL of the problem I don't think cause it's a simalar feelin with the car still and I sometime get a bit of a rough idle and stalling around corners and I sometimes get slight misfires when you accelerate but they are only intermittent and then go away. Now i took it the the garage on monday...thought I'd get it back yesterday. They got a code that my crank sensor was shorting so they replaced that and i went back and was told that they didn't feel it "kick back" anymore but i got a idle prob. I'm like so i got 2 problems..big deal. I take the car out and had it kick back on me 8-10 times in about 5km of driving so the bill was $251 already and my problem hasn't been fixed. I'm thinking injectors or something but they want to just clean my injectors which i think could help but i don't think will solve my problem??? I think an injector might be screwed. I will admit the crank sensor has made my car shift at different points by a bit and it does feel smooter but it hasn't fixed my prob? Any ideas...i'm gonna run out of money!! Sorry for the long post just had a lot to tell!

Injectors or fuel pump would be my guess. When a car idles rough and/or threatens to stall it's almost always one of two things. Spark and Fuel.

Well just got back from the mechanic and now I'm being told that he's sure it's the cam sensor screwing up so now he's got the bill up to somewhere around $450 dollars...and on monday this week I injured my back at work and now I can't work and they are putting me on WSIB and god knows if I'll even get approved or how long that will take to get me any money. I'm so screwed it's unbelievable...sorry for the rant but thought I'd give an update

Sorry bout your back, that suks. The mech replaced the crank sensor and now say's its the cam sensor? I don't know man, sounds funky. When your at cruise speed and you step on it as though to pass or maintain speed, is that when you feel the "shudder"? To me it sounds more like Trans. Transmission or drive line problems will sometimes fool you into thinking its in the fuel/ignition system. You have already done a tune up, so that rules that out. I've had cars do this to me before (shudder going into gear, over drive). I would have the trans checked out, its possible that the valve body is sticky. Sometimes a good tranny flush will take care of it. You may want to have the Mech check it out. But do it in such a way as to make him think he thought of it. :D
