Just ran across this while looking for a way to fix the faded mirrors on my car (other than having them painted).

When this happened on my GA, I just talked to the dealer and they were painted black (matching the body color) to correct the problem, but I thought this info may be useful to anyone who is out of warranty and would like to fix the cosmetic problem without painting.
