Well, I knew this was gonna happen. My driver side window just quit today. I got in the car, flicked the "auto" switch and nothing. Not a sound, no movement.......nothing. Now I have an appt. at the dealership in a few days ( good thing it quit while it was up at least ) but I have a question. Does this sound like the motor or just the switch? It never hesitated or slowed down ever before. I'm scared to even ask what the going rate is........

Well, if it's the window motor, your looking at about 250 for the part + labor..... 300 to 400 if your lucky. I don't know about the switch though. On my car, a little plastic thing that guided the window up and down broke. The thing is, the window motor, track, it's all one piece...250 at the dealer. So even though the motor worked, I still had to buy the whole thing, oh yeah, I got it for 160 new from them. But I guarantee you, if you decide to have them do the work, and it is the motor, check your reciept. I'm sure they'll charge you the over 200 for the part. Maybe you'll get lucky and it's just stuck inplace, it's happened to me before, I just took it apart a little and put it back together, and worked fine after that. Good luck,,,,

I know this may sound stupid, but have you checked the fuses? Do the other windows work?

Yep, checked the fuses, and passenger side works just fine. Dealership people are being idiots. They have this smartass guy working in the parts dept. All I did was ask him if he stocked the motor or switch. Before I could tell him my make and model he cut me off and he said "How do I know? Am I supposed to just pick a part number out of the air" Then of course its not in stock, and they wont order it to have on hand, so even tho they will look at it tomorrow they wont fix it until sometime next week. Damn I wish I had just bought a new one that was under warranty and I wouldnt have to even deal with these people. I could just drop it off and go. ( they give loaners if you bought a new car )

i had same thing ,it turned to be the motor,i ordered one on ebay for 65 bucks and it cames as an assembly with the regulator and motor all in ,its a pain to pop out the factory rivets and put newones in ,but that is what i did,it works like new ,its up to were you want to save money and evoid the hassle or pay up,i rather go to a glass shop and pay less than half what you dealer wants
