VERY REAL chance for a 31/3400 CAM!!!

All right guys,

There is a REAL chance at getting a Comp Cam made for the car. Chris White (GTPprix, gagt.com) is a technical editor for High Performance Pontiac. They are currently working on a Project Grand Am GT, a 2001 iirc. They are modifying the car with basic bolt-on's right now (intake, exhaust, headers). They are working to take it the next level, with a cam. They have the pull to get a custom cam done, but Comp Cams is interested in selling this performance cam the Project car runs IF WE SHOW ENOUGH SUPPORT AS A Grand AM Enthusiast Community!!!

Ok a cam is a machined rod (correct me if im wrong) that is attached to bearings somewhere in the block. It is machined to where when it rotates with engine RPM it pushes "push rods" which lifts a rocker arm on the right side of it and in turn lowers the other side of the rocker arm pushing down a valve. It works for both the intake valve and the exhaust valve. So the reason people usually want to get a new cam is so it causes the intake and exhaust valves to push down further inturn making everything breath much better and faster. Allow in some cases more power, But it will idle slower because more gas is letting it self in and more exhaust is leaving. Now i either hit the nail on the head or i am completely wrong :lol:
