I was cleaning the engine bay of my car yesterday and in the process had unplugged the intake air temp sensor, and of course I forgot to plug it back in. I was driving to work, and all of the sudden my transmission starting clunking and slamming into gears like hell everytime it would shift. Shifting from park into reverse or drive was like smacking the car with a mallet. I was like "Man, what could possibly be wrong now?" I babied it home this morning with what I thought was a failing transmission and a "Service Engine Soon" light staring at me, along with a few other odd things going on with the car such as very fast turn signals and it even stalled a few times at a stoplight. Anyway, after I realized what the simple solution was, everything is fine now. I was kind of bewildered how an air temp sensor would affect the transmission and so many functions of the car. I guess everything in a GA is connected somehow via the computer. Sure made me nervous though!!
