My gas gauge doesnt work right, pretty sure its the sending unit knowing gm vehicles. Anyways what gas mileage should i be getting? I have 177,000 miles and i got about 186 miles on my last tank but maybe that will improve when I change the plugs and wires.

Only 186 miles on a tank? I thought my mileage was bad. I usually get anywhere from 19-22 mpg and about 250-285 miles.

well the car had sat for about 6 months before I bought it and the mileage I am sure is another factor. Thank you for your feed back. How many miles does your car have on it?

Right now it has about 123,700 miles on it. My mileage varies with my right foot and if I have the a/c on which in the summer in Georgia, it was almost always on. Maybe something simple like a tune-up or some injector cleaner will help.

Ive been running fuel injector cleaner through it but with the codes I have been getting I probrably can figure out were the mileage is going

My '93 (AT) has roughly 167k on it. I've gotten about 22-24 mpg for the last year or so. That's about 350 miles on a tank. I drove it across the state this past summer (about 1200 mile total trip) and got 29-30, which really surprised me. I do a lot of short in-town trips, so that probably explains the difference.
