I pulled codes out of my ecm the other day and among a few other codes this one came up. I have never heard of this code before so It would help if someone could fill me in on it. The other codes I have are code 34 which is map sensor voltage low or maf sensor signal low airflow (probrably got a bad MAF sensor or the intake manifold leak I have is leaking vacuum too), code 48 misfire diagnosis (im assuming this is like the p0300 on OBD2 systems) and finally code 44 oxygen sensor lean exhaust (could cause my crappy fuel mileage). If anyone can help me with the code 34 I would greatly appreciate it.

I meant if anyone can help with code 27, sometimes I write faster than I think. I apologize for the mistake

is it possible for the third gear switch to make this code come on?

the crappy thing about this code is it can be a number of things . some thing as silly as a fuse blown out. the reason i suggested the tcc, was when i unplugged it, i got a code 27 as well. if the car is running fine i wouldint be to concerned

well thats just one of the codes. I also have a code 26 and misfire code as well as a lean 02 sensor code (probrably from the misfire).

I pulled codes on my 3.3 the other day, too. I got a code 26 (quad drive module), but don't know what to do about it. Anybody know if it's basically the same as a 27? Not that I know what that is, either, but it sounds like we could both use some enlightenment. Also, my torque converter clutch is slipping on my trans. I think this is a result of too much heat, but I can't figure out why it would be getting so hot. I have an engine mount that needs to be fixed soon-- would that cause a major problem because it would throw off the slignment of the engine-transmission?
Also, anybody else had final drive problems on these cars? Thanks.

Just like the rest of you, I have pulled ecm codes 26, 27, and 28 which are all quad driver module related. My Tcc doesnt engage either....Like graden said above, it might be a fuse that causes the TCC to not engage...if thats so, what fuse controls the TCC switch.
Thank you

From what I have been told by other mechanics is that when a code 26 or 27 is set normally it means that a circuit in the PCM is burned up and can only be fixed by a replacement the only problem with that is you need to find out the root cause of whatever burned the PCM in order to prevent you from burning up the new one. The only driveability concern that my car has is that it surges after warmed up at idle. I am pretty sure that these codes havent caused this issue with my car and that it has something to do with a sensor somewhere.
