Okay this is about the scariest thing thats happened to me..
Around 3:45 I was watching TV still resting after a long day of school. I look out the window and see a cop pull up, and come to the door. My car is sitting out in the driveway, my dad answers and the cop asks who drives that car. My dad said it was me, he asked how old I was.. my dad told him, then the cop wanted to talk to me out on the porch. I started to get creeped out..
He was trying to pull over somebody a few roads away from mine, in a "similiar" car, and it was a teen. He said "you're not the one im looking for are you?" I said "..I hope not?" Then he asked "Do you wear baseball hats?" I said "yeah.. all the time, but not on the weekdays"(no hats allowed in school so I don't bother) He continued to question me, a LOT of stupid questions.
Finally I asked "when did this happen?" He said "around 11am" I said "oh.. well I was in school." He kept asking me where I was afterwards, exactly what I did, etc.. Finally he said "Do you know anyone else who has one like yours?" I do.. he graduated last year, he has like a 94 though so the body is different. I told the cop honestly. Then the cop left.
Man I was so afraid he was gonna arrest me completely on the assumption it happened on a road by mine, in a similiar car, and a teen was driving. If he arrested me, I would have sued the pants off the police dept for wrongful arrest, harassment, and whatever else my lawyer can think up.

My problem is... if he were to give me any kinda attitude through that whole ordeal... I'd of ended up snappin' at him!
I have a temper when it comes to authority, me and cops don't get along!
But that does suck!

Yeah I used to have a GA. And I had a similar experience when a cop thought he had busted someone.
I was stopped a red light, and a cop was going straight, he spotted me, he got this look on his face like he just busted me, and instead of going straight, turned right and got behind me. He started doing the usual, ran my plates, was talking to his partner (in his passenger seat). At this point my friend who was in the car with me said, "You're getting pulled over for sure," but like any other time, I just kept going straight and waited for him to flash his lights. So he finally flashed them and I pulled over. He approached my car, and I had removed my seatbelt to get my reg/insurance (forgot about dumb seatbelt law, I don't need the law to wear my seat belt).
He asked how old I was (I look young, and was only about a month into having my license), and I said 16, and handed him my license. It was awesome, he was crushed, because he was so sure that he had busted me, but his assumptions were so wrong. So to try and save face he was like, "well, you're not wearing your seatbelt," which at this point was irrelavent because of age discrimination.
Stupid cops in my city have nothing better to do, it's one of the bad things about living in a city like Farmington Hills (no it's not hicksville, 70,000 people), with a 100% decrease in murders from 1 to 0 last year. Cops in my city are always on their cell phones, does anyone else notice that in their city?

something like that happend to me about a month ago, I came home from work, pull into my driveway, get out of my car and just look at it, see a smudge so I wipe it off with my shirt, a cop pulls in and he is like, Hey, I am the one handeling the case (familey problem) I was like Hi, he is like so you live here with your mom? I said yeah, he looks at my car and is like so that's your mom's Cadillac? (her car was in the shop) I said no, that's Cadillac, her Cadillac is in the shop. He likes, thats YOUR car? I was like yeah, so he's eyeing it and like, wow, that a really nice car, I said thanks, he was like, yeah something happened eariler with an older Cadillac, like early 80's or something and it's my duty to see what happened, just wondering if you seen anything that went on, I was like, nope, just got back from work, then he was like, oh, ok thank you.....
......strange though, I was surprised, I passed by him when he was at an apartment building coming home from work...who knows what went on......

I'm starting to wonder whether my town really actually has a cop.. or just a cardboard-cutout police cruiser that's placed in the bank parking lot waiting for drunks at like 11pm every night..
I have a bright red GAGT too.. '95 :D
Hopefully I'll have pics this weekend

Well In my town ( of 70,000 ) I get the dirties looks from cops all the time. They love pulling me over, especially at night. They see my window tint, underbody neons, and interior neons and they are like, yea, lets pull that kid over (Ive gotten tickets for window tint, license plate plastic cover, and underbody neons.). Its funny because they pull me over for one of those offences, and like a million other people have window tint and license plate covers! Its funny because they never pull over the BMW's of maxima's or cars driven by older guys, no, its always teens like myself. I drive the limit and i dont go drive crazy, but they see me and they want my little ass busted. Its also funny to note they always say the same thing.
Cop-" Is this your car son"
Me-" yes sir"
Cop-" its a nice looking car there, how can you afford it"
Me-" I cant! insurance is insane!"
Cop-"Oh, well that sure is a nice car" (at this point he just kinda stares at me expecting me to say its stolen or something)
Cop-"ok, now can I see your license, registration and YOUR insurance" ( again he glares at me expecting me to say I stiole the damn thing or something, like he doenst believe I can afford such a nice car)
This is what has happened all three times ive been pulled over, they always question my ownership of my car. grr. pigs, you learn to hate them.

That's heart attack city! Ive read that red cars are more easily spotted by cops by the sporty nature of the color. But that's on the road, in your own driveway is a whole nother ballgame!

lol. i used to have a t/a. i know exactly what you're talking about. mine was black. black car+teenage BOY driver=harrassment waiting to happen. i remember being pulled over in that car one time and the cop asked me how i could afford it. i told him that if it was really any of his business i worked all the time and my parents helped me. kind of caught him off guard.:D
about 2 months ago i was at work and just so happened to look out and see a cop car circling my truck. he drove around 3 times! finally he came in and walked up to me and asked i mark smith was around. i said no, but that's my truck. (its in his name for insurance purposes). the dumbass ignored me and asked where he could find him. i told him he was probably at work, but could i help him. he finally asked if i drove the truck. i thought "haven't we already established this fact?". anyways, he carried me outside and started bichin about my turn signals. they're blue, but shine white. i told him this and he said he didn't care what color they where, i needed to get those out of there bc they're illegal. then what really PISSED me off was he started telling me where he had seen my truck. that's when i jumped in his $hit knee deep. he told me that he had had complaints about my truck doing illegal stuff and that he had seen it parked out by the road in a particular parking lot and i was out there flipping people off and stuff. my exact words were, "you're full of $hit. you haven't seen that truck anywhere near those places or doing anything remotely close to illegal. that truck sits in mine or my girlfriends drive way 90% of the time i'm not at work." then he started arguing with me saying he knew it was my truck. :2up: i said "damnit, i know where my truck is and where it isn't. and it hasn't been in town on a friday or saturday night in i don't know how long. i'm the only one that has a key to it and i don't let people borrow it." he finally told me i needed to watch my attitude and left. my coworkers couldn't believe i done that to that cop, but oh well. he pissed me off:D

Best part is I could be messing around with some snot nose punk pass a cop, back off and they would get all the attention with their fart can, yellow stickers and 4 foot spoiler. And I cruise away in just a typical looking Buick. Of course had to knock it into neutral and coast away otherwise the deep rumble of the 3" ATR exhaust with a test pipe would give it away.

where exactly in NJ did this happen? Sometimes it seems to me like they're going after the wrong things. I see people doing sick s#%t on the roads all the time, and no cops are around for that, but they'll waste time driving around residential neighborhoods looking for someone that didn't pull over hours ago. What kind of crime did he commit? Was it serious enough that they had to go knocking on all the doors in the neighborhood questioning people. It seems to me they should have more important things to do.

.......and another thing, you're right about red GA's and cops. About 5 years ago, I was driving down the turnpike one day, all the way down in Salem County, NJ, on the way to Maryland, when I got pulled over while driving my mom's red '94. He said he pulled me over for doing 71 in a 65. Now, you must admit, 71 in a 65 is not excessive. He really pulled me over because I was a young kid in a red car with NY plates (I lived in NY at the time), and it's always been a rumor that NJ state troopers do not like the NY cars and always try to find a reason to pull them over. Anyway, he proceeded to search the entire car, including my luggage (I was on my way to Ocean City, MD for the weekend). He looked on the floor of the car, and claimed that I had pot in the car (it was just dirt from the bottom of my shoe). I showed him, and he said ok, and I got a ticket for the 71. I thought to myself, these guys couldn't cut it up in NY as cops. They'd have every car pulled over, and couldn't keep up.

I live in Cleveland (Population:???), and I must say, I've never had a problem with cops. Maybe they're just lazy. I live like 30 seconds from a district HQ, so I regularly get on the highway in front/behind a cop. Once they're in front of me, I go as fast as they do, but hang back a few cars in another lane. So far I've only gotten 1 ticket (81 in a 60), but that's because I was doing 81 in a 60 through a speed trap. BTW, my GA is green, so that may be why. Green is soothing...

but alot of times in bigger cities the cops have more things to do than mess with punk kids(no offense). they've got raping, and homocides and stuff like that. speeding isn't a big priority unless you're doing something way bad.
PFloyd2002
10-14-2003, 08:39 AM
That's true. For the most part, they won't even pull someone over unless they're more than 10 over the speed limit. Even with a speed trap. It's funny, because most people around here will go 65-70 through a speed trap, but then slow doen to around 45 if there's an accident not blocking any lanes. Gad damn rubberneckers!

All red cars are cop magnets, that is why I stay away from them. Gray, black, white, or silver are good ways to go with colors of cars.... you blend in more... in my opinon.

Of course I did get pulled over doing 95 in a 65 on a mountain road in the middle of nowhere and got a ticket. But if it had been a man cop I wouldn't have got one I am sure. She just walked around my car checking it out and said "nice car... going a bit too fast though" What a b*tch. There is no way my car was doing 95 up hill in just around a 1/4 mile (we had pulled over to the side of the road to switch drivers just before this happened)
