unless you are buying used, 18" tires will be over $100

18X8" wheels will fit on 99+, but I wouldn't go wider than 7.5" on our years or you'll likely have major clearance problems unless you only drive straight ahead...

heck youre looking at over $100 for the regular 16" tires

Nah, you can get even 17" tires for around $80.

Maybe if your buying those crappy Goodyear RSAs .

Kumho 711s are twice the tire of the Good years at less than half the price. IIRC we paid about $63 each shipped.

yes...go with with the supra series from kuhmo. i got 18's from tirerack and they ran $108 a tire. supra 711's to be exact. nothing in that price range comes even close to the performance you get from those in the rain. jus don't get em for this winter if it snows by you!!!

Yeah we ran them last year in the snow and they suck, one reason why they aren't listed as all-seasons. lol

We already have a set of four wheels with snow tires mounted and waiting a north east winter. :)

No one knows if 18x8 are too wide?

From what I've heard, no they won't. I was surprised to find out they fit the 99+ cars, but those cars have more clearance. I'd go with 18 X 7.5 if I was you and 225 wide tires. You might be able to squeeze 235s in, but I wouldn't bet on it. May depend on whether you stay with stock springs or lower. You saw my car with 17X7.5s on it and not sure if you noticed, but they are pretty close on clearance when the wheel is turned.

Oh but ain't it SO FUN to drive a Z-rated tire in a few inches of snow, John? :) It was relatively cool one night in April 2002 and then...4" snow fell overnight!!!! Had my Bridgestone S-03 pole positions on! Let's just say I was ALL OVER the road at times. I would be spinning like crazy in 5th gear at 30mph!!!!!

As far as prices, with a top line tire like the S-03, you will pay over 100 for a 15" tire! :)
