why, go to a 2.3 quad ho, it would be easier and you can get crate ones from www.mantapart.com for 2500. thats what id do. the weight is closer i think, and you wouldnt have to worry about the suspension that way.

You can mod out that twin cam better that a 3400. RKSport and HighRev have everything you need. Hell, for the $$ you pay for a new V6 you can get an RSM supercharger for that 2.4.

Yeah I agree with them. It doesnt make much sense to go to the 3400, there isnt that much hp gain and it would cost a lot. The 2.4 responds very well to mods and theres more available for it. They have a couple T/C that look like a great investment. Even though the 2.4 are highly known to throw a rod around 200 hp (that is why GMs T/C only puts out 195 hp, so they can safely apply boost) So if you highly modify you can wait till it blows and get a new block with forged internals. The 2.3 HO block would be excellent too, they are meant to be race engines.

check out www.mantapart.com other than them you will need to have the pistons custom made and there are no other cams, you need to have one custom regrind by crower or custom done. BTW just a little pet peeve but dont say that you are gonna put in some NOS, say nitrous (it is a brand name) Also you do realize all the trouble there will be in taking out the engine, the amount of money that will take is a lot. IMO just wait till the engine blows then build up a new engine while its out.

I dunno about that whole throwing a rod thing but I was pushing 222 HP with mine and only damaged an exhaust valve.

Well after going to your n-body site and see you are using nitrous, you arent using all that power all the time so its fine. I am for certain that the 96-98 2.4 had that problem (i dunno if they made it stronger after that) because it was a big problem among boosted j-bodies.
