id say that the motor in the 99 ga se would be better than the 2.0 in the 88 id say just take the turbo and add it to your motor.

i know that my 2.0 turbo will out run a 2003 gt grand am, i had this one guy almost blow up his engine, i raced him three times and he kept hitting his rev limiter cuz he was trying so hard.
on that note, i would try to put a supercharger or turbo on ur bigger displacement engine, and leave the 2.0 alone. if ur talking about fitting the turbo off the 2.0 on ur 2.4 i would say u should get a bigger turbo.

the turbo on the 2.0 l is best suited for small displacement motors getting a bigger turbo will add more boost lag but turboing a 3.4 or 3.1 will be trickey cause youll have to use just 3 cylinders or find a way to use all 6 if you have a v6 id say supercharge it but a 4 cylinder id say turbo it.

i'm just trying the best power for the cheapest price...don't know if the OEM 2.0 charger would be better than an aftermarket one

no it wont be better than aftermarket one but if you go aftermarket make sure you get one that will work for the size motor you have.

i know that you can add a turbo to any stock motor as long as the fuel supply is there to match the extra air your motor is getting.
