I was going to make my own a longtime ago but was intimadated to do it because of the Mass Air Flow Sensor. I hate the way everyone goes to autozone and buys a 70 dollar honda intake tube and filter and puts it and the end of the air filter pan where the rubber tube goes. What I did was take the air filter pan completly off. The sensor will come off of the pan it is held on there with a clip or something. I just tied it around something rigid it dosent have to be anywhere near the throtle body. Then I took the rubber tube that has a 90 degree bend and streched the short end over the throtle body, you have to take the two long bolts off of the throtle body that holds the air lid on, I went to pep boys and found the exact same bolt except for the long part on top so they are flat. Then i had a muffler shop bend me a 2.5 inch pipe into a 45 degree angle, you can use 3 inch it might look a little better. I would suggest 3" that way the cone filter will fit right on the end of the pipe. All you do is get the pipe to fit right under the battery tray, that is where the filter will go.use a hose clamp to clamp the end of the rubber tube to the end of the pipe. And that is all i did, i also painted it with high heat engine paint.

ok now i know where the mass air flow sensor is . because i chopped off my old air filter pan so my air filter is open all around. the MAF sensor is tied 2 something. also please explain how you did the cold air intake thing.

an i also thought about hookin up a small fan underneath the battery tray an runnin some duct to the open air filter . do you think this will give it too much air ?

First of all i dont think that you could have to much air, and also i dont think the fan would help very much, my filter is really low to the ground anyways, it is under the battery tray, the end of the filter sits right under a little plastic thing that is behind the wheel. It dosent matter where tha MAF is it dosent have to be on the air cleaner thing. If you look at the tube you can see that it runs out of the throttle body so it dosent matter what you do before that point. All i did was take the whole cleaner off so you can see the throttle body and stretched the rubber tube that was on the end over the throttle body.

ok today i went to Home Depot an got some 3' aluminum flexible duct. i popped the hood an ran it from the 360* open air filter, straight to the front body kit. so when iam drivin my car is gonna get sooo much cold, fresh air. I also ran the duct away from the engin so it stays cold.

do you still have your original stock air cleaner, or is your filter at the end of the flex tube? My old intake setup was i cut the lid of the air cleaner so you could see the outside of the K&N filter, I havent really noticed a big difference from that than my cold air intake I have now, but it is a hell of alot better that the original setup of the crappy fram filter with it all enclosed with the rubber hose hooked up to the fan.

my intake setup is i cut the old air cleaner so you can see the K @ N air filter all the way around ( no tube ) . i used that 3' duct an run it from the air filter to underneath the car next to the front body kit. so its gettin tons of cold air.

Just Fyi, there are no Maf sensors on the 2.5 the black box attached to the air cleaner is a manifold absolute pressure sensor, or MAP. Just wanted to clarify that for you guys. keep up the good work on the intakes.
