I've been planning on buying a body kit for my 93 GA but I'm very worried about bottoming out because the area I live in isn't exactly flat. Is there anything you can do or buy do prevent the body kit from hitting the ground? I don't want to look like the majority of civics driving around with their front bumpers snapped in two. Thanks for any help.

For me there are bad places around town but theres always a second way to get out that wont hurt anything. So when I get the money im getting aas but i wont be lowering the car.

yeah i have hit the bottom of my kit before :( and let me tell you its not a nice feeling :( The only real way to keep it safe is to not lower you car, or if you can (attatch a thin piece of sheetmetal to the bottom of the kit so that when it scrapes, it scrapes the metal and not the actual fiberglass which might get caught on something and break.
and try your best to take good roads, if you cant get out of a steep exit then find another one, and remember that it will be lower than the stock bumeper, so those cement beams (on the floor) in the parking lot that you used to not care about.. well make sure you keep a safe distance.

Listen to what they said.
Here's another tip- find a local vinyl shop that carries CLEAR vinyl. Have them line the bottom edges of the body kit if they can.

OR even try this, was watching an Import car show on tv,yea i know, but anyways, they were talking about these days how people are wanting lower cars and bigger rims, well they were showing some tricks on how to protect the bottom of the front bumper from scraping on things easily. They took some thin pieces of Teflon and attatch it to the bottom lip of the front bumper and when it would scrap it would natuarly just slide over it then scraping and the Teflon lasts a long time since its durable and slippery,Monster Garage even used it in a couple episodes. This is if you want to lower your car,but even if you don't or didn't lower your car,you can still scrape since most body kits sit lower to the ground then stock ones.

Hey, thanks for all the tips everyone. They all sound very good. Now I have one more question. How easy/hard is it to crack a fiberglass body kit? For example, I pull into a steep driveway and hit the front of the bumper.

well i have the AED kit.. and that is REALLY strong fiberglass. i mean like a 1/4 inch thick.
I also got my sister a body kit for her eclipse and that thing is very thin. Its like 1/8 inch thick or something.
It just depends on the kit. The thinner the more careful you have to be. Like my kit, if my sister and i both go down a steep incline.. hers has more of a chance of cracking than mine since hers is soo thin. From what i have heard, all the kits made for the grand ams are pretty good.
its when they are shipped off to japan (or something ) to make that they come real thin.
the 99+ andysautosport kit on ebay is a knock off of the real Andys kit and that kit (ebay ) is real flimsy.

And don't be like tido and run into trees. Even if it was 2 inches thick you'd get SOME cracking. LoL...just messin' with ya man.

Drive around town and see where the bad places are,, Dont go over speed bumps, take corners to sharp, go up or down any steep inclines or declines. Watch curbs,, I havent scraped and i had the kit for about 3 years,,
