hey.
i was wondering if anybody else had the reverse glow gauges from pro car parts and how easy/hard they were to install, and how good they glow. also is there alot of wiring to do, or is it just like an hour of installation.
thanks.

I have them on my car and they look good. But, keep in mind, these are cheap quality and you MUST use EXTREMELY thin double sided tape to prevent the needle from sticking. Also, the dummy lights overlay works only for the 99-00 grand am.

on the pro car parts website they have them for my car too, and I have a 98. And what do you mean by dummy lights?

I am using the PCP Glow Gauges in my 97 SE. I love em and get tons of good feedback on them. They are not hard to install at all. There are two wires (power and ground). I hooked the power to the fuse for the gauge lighting and ran the ground to the body. One thing I did learn is DO NOT REMOVE YOUR NEEDLES! I ended up replacing my gauges because of that little mistake.

The ProCarParts gauges are kinda ugly to me, I don't know, there's just too much going on with those gauges, too many colors and stuff. Go with the Speedhut gauges. I have the Indiglo ones, I'd post pics but I have no digital camera.

Too many colors??? Mine are blue, blue and um blue on white... I think that it would be a problem if there was less colors (white numbers on a white background just doesn't work).

To each his own I guess.

you don't have to worry about that because yours is a pre99GA. The dummy lights for the 99+ Grand Ams are the SVS, SES, seatbelt lights etc on the very top. I was just stating for anyone with a 99-04 GA that those overlays will work only on a 99-00GA.

you dont need tape on the 96-98 ones. nor do you have to remove any needles.....45 min install tops

I just meant, like, that circle going around all of the needles that light up, and all the little dashes and, whatever. I don't know.
I was just saying that mine are a little more plain and I liked that better.

Yes, with a little bit of pulling and prying the vents come out easy and then can be dissasembled easy, so you can paint what you want.

Same here. Took about an hour to install, DONT REMOVE THE NEEDLES!!! Look great, and it has a brightness and color switch, too. Turn it full bright, you will be blinded. I mean, they can be BRIGHT!! :wow:

Yeah, I leave mine closer to the lower brightness setting.
And, no, it's not just poop green, I have choices with what color I want them. ProCarParts was half the price, I'm not saying half the quality, but ProCarParts doesn't really sell anything but those goofy looking gauges and cheap air intakes.
If you want to go the cheap way, go ProCarParts, isn't that right Grandizzle?

Ok, I just went to their site, they've added quite a bit since I've been there last, my bad about my last post.
But the gauges are still cheap.

JMILLS: sorry to bother again? Should I pull on the vent part or the border?

I have pcp gauges. They are the silver ones. I thought they were great quality. They fit perfect. They don't have goofy colors or designs either. Every dummy light works. http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/293000-293999/293038_91_full.jpg http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/293000-293999/293038_92_full.jpg

The whole vent comes out, so I pulled on the fins.
