I am new to the world of modifying vehicles. I am looking to pull my current engine from my 2002 Grand AM SE1 which is a 4cyl automatic. I would like to replace it with a 6cyl 3400 Ram Air Engine. Is this a feasable swap and will it even fit with what I currently have in my vehicle as far as engine block space goes? Any and all information available would be greatly apprecaited, thank you.

im not positive but the SE's have a 3.4 v6 just like the GT's and the body style and eveyrthing is the same so everything should fit... it would probably be better just to buy a GT unless u want to do the swap yourself... cost too much to have a shop do it.. it is possible to do and i know it has been done... but in my honest opinion u mine as well just buy a GT.. but if you want to spend the money and you have the means to do it go for it.. it will fit... but i dont think it will be worth the money if you pay a shop to do it... but thats my two cents on the subject... if you are going to spend the money you mine as well drop in a GTP engine... its the same block size as the 3400.. if your gone go mine as well go all out... but its up to you... keep us posted on what you do...

There isn't going to be a big enough performance gain to justify the price of swapping the engine. Just a heads up.. (unless you mod the 3400 before swapping it in)

Question. If the 3800 is the same block size as the 3400, then wouldn't it bolt right in? I've considered swapping out my 2.4 myself, I got a 3800 and tranny just waiting to be put into my car. But I heard you have to change the motor mounts...or something like that...

With the crap load of computer stuff. Couldn't you just swap the PCM from the donor car into the new car?
