Hi,

Just want to share a possible solution to the grinding noise some people might be having on their cars. Over the past few months I have had a grinding noise coming from the right rear wheel of my car. The other day I had a flat tire on that same side and when I put on the spare the noise disappeared completely. Once the tire was repaired I made sure to use a tourque wrench to tourque the bolts to 50lb/ft in a star pattern (while that side of the car was raised). Put the car down slightly just enough so that the wheel would not turn and tourqed to bolts to 100lbs/ft (in the star pattern). No grinding noise ever since. I think i might have overtightend one or all of the bolts the previous time i rotated the tires and that cause some kind of rubbing somewhere. Anyways hope this helps, cause what sounds like your brakes going bad could just be wheel needing to be torqued to the proper specs.

my grinding noise is only when i come to a moderate stop and usually has a Sewell coming from the drivers side. when i stop soft or really hear it is not there. I also noticed that when i washed my car today that while the brakes are wet it does not do it so I don’t know it almost has to be the pads and rotors but both are new. i have them rayobestos quite stops ohhh yeah it only happens when i get down to about 15 or so mph

Are you sure it's the brakes? I have a strange noise coming from somewhere on my car that I only hear when I'm rolling slowly with the radio and the blower fan off. It's not very loud, but loud enough to sound wrong. I'm pretty sure it's not the brakes, I just replaced those and it's exactly the same. Let me know if that's it.
