wrong section. You want to post this in the modifications or the engine specific forums not here :)

man you can get that engine to give out a whole lot of hp but it wouldnt be a good idea.. simple put.. it would cost way too much.. honestly i think aoubt 170 or 180 h would be pretty high for that car.. to get that you would have to look at getting a new exhaust, air intake, air filter, and possibly ase chip. all that together might get you up aroudn 25 hp.. but then again 150 stock hp is not at the wheels.. see there is a diference at 150 hp stock and 150 hp at the wheels.. the wheels will always be lower but with those mods.. you might reach 180 but just not at the wheels..

RSMracing.com has a supercharger, cams, intakes, and different heads for the 2.4 which combined could probably have around250-300 H.P.

The LD9 is able to make about 200-210 at the wheels, however you will need to decide how you want to attain your goals.
I'll break it down like this:
Forced induction:
1. Decide whether you want to turbo or Supercharge the engine, and then research on Mantapart or www.gaupgrades.net for low-compression pistons, and forged rods.
2. After that, upgrade the fuel injectors, fuel rail and possibly the pump (or get a fuel pressure riser).
3. Install MSD-4 ignition and coil packs or possibly Jacob's electronics versions of the same.
4. Port & polish out the head on both the intake & exhaust, as well, and add in a larger MAF sensor 60-62mm.
6. Install the Vizzion turbo kit or the RSM Racing Centrif. S/C kit. If you want factory performance options and a warranty go with the GM Roots S/C (although you will find that the performance is a little lower than the other options). Make sure that you get either an intercooler or aftercooler, as well as a CAI (you make need to custom fabricate one)
7. Install either an A/F tuning box or a ful engine management computer so you can custom tune the performance to your liking.
8. Consider adding a high-flow enhaust/larger downpipe, and definitely a high-flow cat.
9. Also, the Transmission may need attention, I'd go with a Level 10 Torque converter if you have an auto, or a Centerforce stage 1 clutch and lightened flywheel if you have stick.
10. Dyno the living be jeebers out of the car, this is the only way to dial in all the upgrades and check your performance.
All-motor/Nitrous only
1. Check Mantapart and consider their high-compression pistons, or consider a set of forged pistons and connecting rods and possibly have the deck planed a little to bring up compression, I wouldn't advise doing both though.
2. Port and polish the Head and add in the larger MAF (60mm)
3. Install a full CAI system with wheel well intake... I believe that Mantapart has one for the 2.4L LD9 for Grand Am bodies.
4. Install a FPR and larger injectors, as well as a better ignition system like one from MSD or Jacobs.
5. Install the Pacesetter exhaust headers, or if you want the best performance, Bill's Isuzu headers for the LD9, as well, a low restriction exhaust and a high flow Cat should be installed to maximise flow-through.
6. I'd also consider an A/F tuning device, but it would probably be easier just to put in a Engine management computer, or at least, put in an ASE chip for the LD9.
7. I would also definitely consider a transmission upgrade from Level 10 or Centerfoce clutch upgrade and lightened flywheel. Also, for either I'd add in a limited slip diff. if you were seriously considering dragging or autox-ing.
8. Add in your nitrous last, since you'd probably be getting the Zex kit or NX's kit, they require a bit of time to learn when to start firing, but once they have a handle on it, they're bulet proof for the most part.

Actually it wasnt, either a super moderator or admin moved it. Because I can only move threads in my specific area. That would be funny though if I really did do that :D
