ive got a 97 ga se, with the 2.4L, lately my low coolant light is on and wont turn off(under the fuel gauge), and when i check the engine coolant level, its a little more than full, or just about full, but the light is still on, whats going on, ive been checking and im not leaking anything, untill i was at a friends house and when i left i noticed a puddle of anti-freeze, his drive way is on a incline, but at home, work and gfs house no puddles, whats going on???

Try giving the reservoir tank a light tap with the handle of a hammer. Sometimes the coolant sensor sticks and causes the light to stay on. Just a couple light taps (Not hard enough to damage the tank) should do it. If not, check the electrical conection to the sensor in the tank for corrosion, etc.

Try changing the sensor if the tapping gets u know where. That would be u'r best option.

Uh oh.

You, my friend, are going to experience what most 2.4L owners have; your water pump is about to die. Save up your money, cause its gonna be expensive to replace.

Check the bottle when the engine is stone cold. If it is below the engine cold line, fill it to the appropriate level. The light will go out in a few hours of drive time after that. But you soon be going through a gallon of DEXCOOL (for the love of God, please use that) a week, like I did.

DO NOT CHANGE THE SENSOR. I did that, and it did nothing. See above post.

(sorry to jump on ya, but that sensor is expensive! :D )
