I have a 97 Grand Am SE with a 2.4 Twincam & manual Transmition. I have a problem that when in the morning i start the car and warm it for just a bit and i will start to go, it will stall on me and i wont be able to start it for few minutes. After it will start and it will be ideling rough for a bit and the problem will disappear. It only happens at the warm up stage of the car. If i start the car and warm it to normal operational temp it will run fine with no problems. The car has been at five different mechanics and no one can find the problem. Its at the Gm dealer now, for the second time. Did anyone have the same problem or has a solution?

My girlfriend's 2.4 Sunfire had a similar problem. She'd start it up in the morning and it would idle like crap and would try to stall out when you tried to reverse or go in first gear unless you gave it a ton of gas. Went away after the car warmed up and never happened if the car had been driven in the previous 4-5 hours.

She took it to Pontiac and they reprogrammed the computer and tightned the O2 sensor. We haven't had the problem since.
