This coming summer i'm thinking of getting a spoiler for my car, but i have a question and hope someone has an answer for me..

I'm not into the price on the aed, and i want something a little higher than the sc/t spoiler. So i'm going to get something that doesn't match my old holes.

My question- Is there a way to just drill the new holes and cover the old ones or have a clip or something that goes in place of the old ones so it won't drip in my trunk.

There are two reasons for me wanting to do this.

1) So i don't have to get the trunk painted ($$$$)
2) If i ever want to put the old one back on..

Any help would be great
Thanks in advance Droopy Droors

no there is nothin i know of that you can cover the holes with and it not be chessy! just do your best to find a spoiler that has a bolt pattern almost the same as the factory. that way the base of the spoiler will cover the old holes. then just stick some sealant over the hole so it doesnt leak. if not your just going to have to get the holes filled and painted to match or else it will be chesy!

So if i can't find anything that matches up real close do you think i can just paint the old holes and not the whole trunk.. I guess that wouldn't look to cheesy becase the touched up holes would be underneath the new spoiler anyway so it wouldn't be to noticable.. Thanks for you help

you can't just paint the holes, you have to have them welded closed, paint isn't going to close them up,the holes go into the trunk,if you were to open the trunk lid and look under the bolts go right through and there would be 2 holes i think that the bolts for the factory spoiler, paint wouldn't fill them in. I've been thinking about getting a 99+ Mustang spoiler but i keep thinking about the other things you have to do once i get one, have it painted, the old spoiler holes being filled in and repainted to match car, theres just layers of things you have to do to do it the right and professional way that won't make the trunk look f'd up.

If you want to cover the holes up you have to do this
Buy some spot putty with fiber glass threds in it and im sure you will have to sand the area down and fill the holes in. Just filling the holes in and sanding them down then painting. The stuff in the sumemr drys in about 5-15min dosent take long, then use some 120 grit sand paper from an auto store. Can always ask them what to do. But i think the sc/t spoiler looks gay even with the body kit id look into some universal ones. And yes you can drill your own wholes but you will need some loner bolts in some spots because the trunk isnt flat all over. (edit)
Fiber glass stuff is in a big big can its called Thin fiber glass strand reinforced body filler kit. Stuff works grate sand it right do a good job looks like the old trunk.
