First off, I have been a Nissan guy for the last 8 years, so the hunting of problems in the GA is fairly new to me.

I dont know if this is indicitive of the GA, but while in park, trying to rev, it acts as though there is some sort of low RPM rev limiter on the car. Runs perfect if in gear, just acts really crazy as if it has a rev limiter if you *moderately* rev the engine in park.

Also, which motormounts are known for going bad on the 95 2.3 Quad 4? I am leaning toward the front lower and/or the passeger side transformer looking unit.

Thanks in advance gang! :D

The limiter kicks in around 4 grand, so you can't rev it up too much.

My 89 front motor mount under the oil filter broke, and stayed broke the 4 or so years I drove it. I just got a chunk of good towing chain, wrapped it around the mount/frame and got a long high tensen bolt and toghten the thing together. No more problems.

There is a rear one that tends to brake, but I never had problem with it.

Because your new a quick warning, always have anti-seaze around before you pull/replace any spark plug. Else they tend to try to become one with the head.

Quads have no PCV or EGR either. Don't buy fancy spark plugs. Just stay with the normal Ac delco plugs.

Is it a DOHC or a OHC...ie Duel over head cam or single over head cam.

Oh, do you know where the spark plugs are on this car. If not when you look at the motor with the hood open, you see a large plate with 4 bolts. Remove the bolts and pull straight up on the plate. You will see the plugs looking up at you.

Enjoy, there fun little motors, watch out once it brakes 3 grand the power band jump FAST.

Yeah, its the dual overhead cam. Funny thing, my stock 2.0 DOHC 16 valve SR20 engine in the Nissan seemed to have more power(feel) before the SR20DET swap, than this does. Of course I had a 7500 red line and a 5-speed, but still.

I am going to do the usual tune-up things and replace the tranny filter and fluid as well as there seems to be a little hard engagement when you put it in drive and reverse. Thanks for the reply! :D

The Quad I just traided in was a DOHC 5 speed, it moved for a 4 banger. You MUST have a Auto in there. Mine I could do 60 in second gear at 6 grand. Got on freeways 70 in 3rd at 5 grand daily.

Yellowed at 63 reds at 68 grand. But now I have a 6 banger 24 valve, so I can still go, even for a auto.
