Hey
I put h&rs on my car and now there is a popping noise coming from the front springs. The guy that aligned my car said that the springs where able to spin all the way around. I don't think they are supposed to do this but i dont know. ANyone else have experience with this or know what i might have done wrong.

Thanks
Alex

the springs are spinning? I think the weight from the car would hold those things down enough to not move around, unless he doesn't totally know what hes talking about.Theres some people that have H&R's haven't heard or seen to many people complaining about anything wrong or bad happening,i think you'll be fine. My front wheels are making a noise when i turn, hopefully me and my dad will see what it is when we install the new struts next weekend, put the new shocks in last weekend.

ok....We now took the front off again and made the spring but up against the top part that angles down. The bottom has nothing to but the spring up against so we left it alone on that rubber peice...again. We put it all back together and the damn popping still happens. I installed them on my stock struts. People on this site have done this with success. I don't understand any way to fix this problem. If you guys would please help me with this problem. You guys are my only hope right now.

please help

thanks

Alex

maybe u put the on the wrong side?? i know a friend of mine did this to a 97 Celica and he had the samd problem but it went away after driving it for about two hours, so he said. i think u might just need to spin them around alittle bit till it goes away. thats about the best i can say.

When the springs are install you have to make sure they line up where the old ones where. Often mark the location of the end of the last coil with a tire crayon. This is a common problem when people install springs.

:agree: Look at where the last coil or end of the last coil touches the bottom of the strut(where the springs rest on strut) and there should be some kind of rubber pad, there should be some kind of indicator that shows where the spring should sit, theres really only one way the springs will sit in there if they aren't settling in the groove in the rubber pad they might be spinning as you say they are,i know me and my dad had to align the springs up right when we installed my new struts on the front of my 97 and i think the struts are the same(McPhereson) even tho the 99+ GA's are struts all around.
